There are times when I won't be home to ship them for several weeks. I will let you know that when you express interest in the item by email. | |
| Exploradome-dome complete with round
building. http://www.exploradome.us/ Pictures below. |
I have a 2 year old white explora-dome
with rings, rollers and kit to make the 8 foot round building (with
the
older style wooden door. ) I have decided not to build it and am
looking to sell it. The problem is, it is in Carrizozo, NM and
you need to pick it up if you want it. I am not shipping
it. It is difficult to say what it is worth new as they have
updated many of the items in the kit. They have a larger round
building and steel door and the domes can be lined in black.
Their current offerings run up to $3000 wiht those improvements. I would like to get $1500 for this
but am willing to negotiate. The kit has never been put together
and includes everything needed (I was told). If you want to make
the trip, my site here regularly hits 21.5 on the darksky meter.
It hit 22.08 two weeks ago. (If the milky way is overhead, the
darksky meter reading goes down). Anyway, if you make the trip,
you can stay for a couple of days at the motel in Carrizozo and observe
on my land if you like. I have several scope here and would be
happy to let you use one. Obviously we would need to arrange a
mutually satisfactory time. The dome and rings are 95" wide and
will need a nice size truck. If you want to arrange shipping at
your expense, that is fine to. It comes with Dome, roller kit, 2
rings, round building kit (no floor). |

![]() Solar projector for refractor (2 views shown): This is really old (circa 1960) When I got it the paint was peeling off. I stripped it, and repainted it ..flat black and flat white. Now it looks as new except for brass showing through the chrome rod. $16 shipped in the US. |

2.1" Secondary mirror. This mirror was recoated about a year ago by Newport and has been in a box ever since. On the back is printed "Newport, 1/10 wave". $36 includes US shipping. I removed the wrapping to take the picture, then wrapped it back up. That is some white foam holding the paper from wrapping itself around the mirror. I cannot for the life of me remember where I originally got this. (it was apparently originally sold by Newport). |
